Asymetric Lunar Cratering

Through analysis of a newly released database containing data for over two million lunar craters, we investigated the differences in cratering rates between the near and far sides of the moon, as well as the leading and following sides, to gain insights into the average speed of asteroid collisions and the history of the moon’s orientation. Our analysis involved data handling in Python and data visualization techniques, resulting in a thorough and insightful investigation into lunar cratering patterns.
